"I believe in Jennifer Munro's approach to the mental and emotional side of golf so much that I encourage all the PGA Tour professionals I work with to take the profile test and to work with Jennifer's analysis to improve their response to the pressures and stress of tournament golf. It has produced great results. I never bought into the "one size fits all" approach that is currently peddled such as "relax, visualize, pre-shot routine, etc.". They can help some, but I believe actually harm others who try them. The approach to handling the intense pressure of tournament golf must be tailored to the individual's personality. With out understanding the personality factor, any suggestions on how to handle stress is like throwing a dart at the wall. "

  1. What does this have to do with the way I play? Top ^

Your personal traits are the causes of your specific responses on the golf course. They are the reason you either dislike playing behind slow players, get uncomfortable when people are close behind you, whether you like new challenging courses, or prefer to play your favorite over and over. Knowing how your specific traits are affected by what happens on the golf course gives you the power to control your responses to maintain your best playing state of mind, and body. Challenger, Social, Traditional and Technical Golfers have very specific differences in why they play, how they play and what factors determine how well the round plays out.

  2. What is the Golf Mind Rx™ Profile? Top ^

It is an instrument that is based on neuro science principles having to do with your brain's positive or negative responses to specific events and stimuli. It is comprised of common adjectives that have specific meaning to you based on your inherent preferences and natural temperament. It is adapted to what occurs on the golf course and how that affects your mental and physical state.

  3. What kind of information will it give me? Top ^

It will identify your primary Golfer Type - Challenger, Social, Traditional, Technical or a combination. It will describe your observable personality traits, the real reasons behind why you play and therefore what is essential to your enjoyment. It will provide self-awareness on why winning is or is not important to you, how important the fun aspect of golf is to you, if at all, how important relaxation is or isn't and generally what constitutes the best golf experience for you. It will describe the most common things that can happen to you specifically that detract from your performance and your enjoyment. It will tell you how to recognize when these factors are at work and how to conquer those responses to return to your best playing state.

  4. How long does it take? Top ^

The Profile is generally completed within 5 to 10 minutes.

  5. What will I get back?Top ^

Your personal Golf Mind Rx™ Profile report will consist of 10-14 pages which you can read on line and/or print out. Upon review of your report, you will also have the option of a telephone feedback conversation with the developer of the profile to address any questions or indepth explanation you might like. It will include sections on your observable traits, your primary motivations and essential factors for your best golf, negative influences, how to recognize changes in your positive state of playing, which we call Hazards, and specific suggestions on how to counteract those during your round. It will describe the best choices for playing partners, golf courses, and playing and practice formats and instruction factors.
